With Mandarin capability and hands-on experience across product development, technical sourcing and quality control, he helps translate drawings, specifications and practical ideas into production-ready outcomes while keeping engineering, commercial and delivery priorities aligned.

Mal Tomlinson
Mal brings a wealth of practical knowledge and international business experience across manufacturing, product development, procurement and global sourcing. With more than 20 years of experience working with manufacturers and suppliers in China, Mal has developed extensive expertise in product sourcing, factory assessment and approval, quality control, supplier management, price negotiation and production oversight. As an entrepreneur, inventor and product developer, Mal specialises in taking products from an initial idea through design, development and prototyping, all the way to manufacturing and commercial launch. His hands-on approach and manufacturing knowledge allow him to identify practical solutions, improve product designs, control production costs and work closely with factories to turn concepts into commercially viable products. Mal has successfully developed and manufactured a number of innovative sports products that are now sold through distributors and partners across the United States, Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia. His combination of international sourcing experience, manufacturing knowledge, product development expertise and commercial understanding provides clients and business partners with valuable support throughout the entire product journey — from concept to factory to market.

Cherie supports ISM’s day-to-day sourcing and administration across China, coordinating directly with factories, suppliers and the wider project team. Her work covers supplier communication, quotations, samples, documentation, production follow-up and schedule coordination, helping ensure that project details are understood, recorded and acted on. Her organised, practical approach provides an important link between client requirements and factory execution.
